Well, I'm back!!  Andy took me to the community garden today while she worked on all those smelly herbs.  I had to stay in my crate in the shade cause she was busy, and it was too hot to just be tied up to a post.  Although I would rather run around barking barking barking and sniffing sniffing sniffing, I get calmed down in my crate, esp. if I can see Andy the whole time, which I could..  I took a little nap, it was such a nice day.  Then Andy went to this new place where I'd never been, and I started sneezing as soon as I walked in.  There were a bunch of nice ladies there getting things done to their nails, and sitting in strange chairs as another lady messed with their fur.  Andy put me in my crate again, and I felt safer there.  The ladies wanted to know my name, and when Andy said Bindi, one of them knew exactly where the name came from:  the little girl named after the alligator her dad loved, and the name then attached to me.  They were all cooing and fauning over me and wanted me to be let out of my crate, so Andy did, and I made a beeline to the door.  I wanted out of there in the worst way.  It was way too smelly in a bad way, and all that weird furniture freaked me out.  So back in the crate I went till we left.  Whew.  It was a tiring morning even though I didn't run around very much.

But i got to go to the dog park yesterday and play with Momo, my beagle friend, and I made friends with a Wheaton, but I can't remember her name.  I liked her right away.  There were lots of dogs, and of course I went to the gate a couple of times to greet the newcomers to make sure they were cool enough to come in, and I had to really get up in some of their faces cause they just didn't smell right to me.  Hey, it's my job.

  • Hi Everybody!  Guess where I am?  In Champaign, Illinois, at my Aunti Erin and Uncle Jason's house.  My cousin Ashley is here, and she's a pretty golden retriever mix, but she's not into playing with me.  But Molly came over, and she's just about my age and we've been running after one another in Erin's yard and chewing on rawhide treats and she's great fun.  It wasn't great fun being cooped up in the dog carrier thingie when we were on that big metal flying noisy machine and I had to be under the seat, but I'm better now with two other dogs and lots of dog loving humans around.  I also liked being at the AndFam house where all my human cousins were really really nice to me, and I liked licking the little kids who tasted so sweet and laughed when I licked them, and Ilia walked me and walked me and walked me and I got to chase the ball and woof woof bark bark it was really great.

  • Well, I really did it this time.  I was playing in the yard, but Andy had me tied up with a long rope to a tree, and I couldn't really roam like I usually do.  I guess cause of that time when I went across the road to Annette's house.  Andy and Sylvia and Margaret were out there too, playing with the trees and plants and dirt and stuff, when all of a sudden I felt myself no longer tied, but yip yip bark bark bark FREE!.  Well, I was SO happy to not be tied up any more that I went exploring and ended up in the road again, woof woof, with those huge metal noisy things flying by.  They disorient me a lot.  All of a sudden one of them stopped and I guess I was so out of it he was able to pick me up and put me in his car, and he took me to that place I had been before, but am not terribly fond of, altho sometimes there are other dogs there and the ladies are nice.  But I guess Andy was calling me and calling me and getting more and more worried cause it was the first time she couldn't find me at all.  It's one thing when I play that game where I know she wants me to come in and calls me and I just run away from her bark bark bark, but this time she couldn't even see me.  I guess she was really really upset, and apparently got in her car and started driving around the area really slowly with her hazard lights on looking for me.  Then I guess she came back to the house and was gonna call Annette and Uncle Rob for help.  But there was a message on the phone when she picked it up and it was from the Guilford Vet Hospital where I was.  They had called Andy to say that nice man took me there, cause I wear three I.D. tags on my purple harness ruff ruff and so he knew who my doctor was from them.  She asked if I was alright, they told her I was, and she rushed right over to pick me up.  The ladies could tell I felt guilty; they could see it on my face, and told Andy so.  I couldn't even look at her or give her a kiss or nothing whine whine whine.  So now I'm getting a time out in my crate for the afternoon.  I'm glad I'm ok.  I guess dogs have guardian angels, too . . .

  • Bark bark I got a new stuffed squirrel, and I love it a lot!  I like to chase squirrels out in the yard and when I'm on campus, so having one to play with is way fun.  I'm hungry right now cause Andy forgot to bring my food into her Yale office today.  I'll just eat double when I go home.
